Woodmont Writers Group

Founder: Beth Pattillo
SMALL GROUP – BIG TALENTS, AMBITIONS & HEART
Julie Tanner & Jan Goans, Co-Conspirators

Mission: The Woodmont Writers Group is about coming together to learn about, and practice, honing our craft – & most important: encouraging one another to engage in it on a regular basis! If, in the process, a little fellowship happens, what’s not to like?

Membership: Writers and storytellers of all types: mystery, contemporary and historical fiction, inspirational, humorous/anecdotal, memoir, romance, fantasy, horror, essay, and poetry – even song. Membership is not limited to church members.

Activities: Monthly meetings running from August through May each year, usually, but not confined to Sundays, usually at the church, although we have been caught meeting in members’ homes or at restaurants, taking field trips, and throwing a couple of potluck parties (usually during the holidays and summer) . Most meetings feature a guest speaker, educational presentation, or writing assignment during the first segment, followed by an optional sharing and critique session.

Church-Related Activities: Woodmont Writers are invited to contribute (on an optional basis) devotionals for inclusion in the Advent and Lenten booklets.

Fall 2008 Meetings for the Woodmont Writers Group are:

September 14
October 19
November 23

All meetings are at 2PM in Room 100
