Happening at Woodmont!

Happening at Woodmont!

We are now less than two weeks away from Easter. Here are some important things that are happening at our church that you need to be aware of.

CONFESSIONS OF FAITH – The 58 members of our Disciples class will make their confessions of faith at the 9:30 service this Sunday. This is the largest Disciples class we have ever had, and they will be baptized on Sunday, April 12. Please keep these young people and their families in your prayers during this very special time.

SPRING STEWARDSHIP CAMPAIGN – Our spring stewardship campaign will kick off this Sunday, March 29. Chad and Kristen Greer are the chairs. The stewardship campaign is how we fund the operations and ministries of our church. This will be a very important year as we also have a large capital campaign going on as well. The theme is “Living Generously” based on the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:21: “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

HOLY WEEK – Once again, we will offer two special services during Holy Week.  Our Maundy Thursday service will be in the chapel on April 2 at 6:30 PM with dinner served before. Our Good Friday service will be on Good Friday at NOON focusing on the “Seven Last Words” of Jesus. Both of these are powerful services.

EASTER SUNDAY – On Easter, we will have a 7:00 AM sunrise service at the outdoor chapel; a 9:30 AM service in the sanctuary and down in Drowota Hall; a 9:40 AM Bridge service; and an 11:00 AM service in the sanctuary. Easter is always a wonderful day at Woodmont!

NEW CONSTRUCTION TIMELINE – We are moving full speed ahead with the construction of our new family life center. Demolition of Campbell West is scheduled to happen in early May. Lots of excavating and site work will need to be done before the actual building starts going up later in June & July. Stay tuned for updated announcements as we move forward.

I am thankful to lead a church that has so much going on. Fill your heart as spring buds around us and we prepare for a wonderful Easter!
