Thank you, Abby Akers!

Thank you, Abby Akers!

One of the most important things we do as a church is pour Christian values and love into our young people, forming their faith, teaching them about Jesus, and equipping them to lead both now and in the future! Woodmont does this very well!

Abby Akers moved to Nashville three years ago. She has been our Middle School Youth Director over the past year and a half and has done an incredible job in this role! She is gospel-focused, loves our kids, and has poured herself into this ministry. A few weeks ago, she let us know of her intention to move back to Colorado, which is where she grew up, so that she can be closer to family. With mixed emotions, she let the middle school students know this past Sunday.

We can’t thank Abby enough for all her hard work and the example she has set for our kids. We will celebrate Abby’s ministry on Sunday night, March 29, during the youth group time. Parents are invited to join at 5 PM that night. Her last Sunday with us will be Easter Sunday. Jay and I are now conducting a search for our next Middle School Director, and Lockwood Barr will serve as our Interim Director during this time. Abby will be greatly missed!

Life Center Design

Detailed design continues to move along for our Family Life Center. Hastings has been working very hard with our design team in recent weeks, and the building is going to be a remarkable addition to our church. The Parent Company, our contractor, is currently in the process of getting bids from subs. We still anticipate breaking ground this summer on this important addition to our campus. Campbell West will be coming down after many years, and that part of the campus will be cleared and graded for construction. Here are a few pictures that show our design progress. We will be keeping you posted on the timeline.
