Farewell to the Parsonage!

Farewell to the Parsonage!

I want to thank everybody who made a pledge on Commitment Sunday to support Woodmont’s budget for another year. If you haven’t, we STILL need your help to raise our operating budget. Again, this is different from the capital campaign. This supports our ongoing mission, ministry, and operations. You can click here to make your pledge online.

I was first called to Woodmont in the summer of 2007. I moved to Nashville, single, with a golden retriever and U-Haul full of belongings. The parsonage, “Campbell West,” became my home and it was a bachelor pad with a massive wooden deck and mismatched furniture. Megan and I met and started dating in the fall of 2007. We were engaged in 2008 and married May 16th of 2009. She moved in after the wedding. My men’s group moved her furniture over while we were away in St. Thomas on our honeymoon. I’ve always joked that her dream throughout medical school was to one day live in a parsonage.

Our two oldest children, Montgomery and Clayton, were brought home to the parsonage where they lived their early years attending WCPS. It was our family’s home for 7 years until we became pregnant with Wade and moved out in March of 2016 to our current home. It was a bittersweet goodbye. The parsonage, “Campbell West,” has served Woodmont well over the years. We all have special memories at that house, especially my family. Young adult gatherings, Christmas parties, cookouts, Bible studies, family events, wine tastings, Leadership Woodmont meetings, outdoor worship during Covid, it’s all happened there! In the coming days, this house will come down to make way for a new family life center that will serve our church for generations to come. This new building will be spectacular and will transform our corner. As we read in Ecclesiastes 3, “for everything there is a season and a time for every matter under heaven.”

Thank you, Campbell West, for the many memories! Thank you for being our family’s home! We are excited to look ahead to what the future has in store!
