Abby Akers

Middle School Youth Director

Abby is a graduate of Colorado State University with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies (Cum Laude). While residing in Ft. Collins, she worked with Young Life as part of their student staff as well as with Southeast Christian Church working as an intern for youth and young adults. At Colorado State, Abby served as president of the school’s college ministry. Since moving to Nashville, she has served as a team member with Young Life at Overton High School and is also a freelance writer.

Abby’s passion is faith development with students and volunteer engagement. Woodmont Executive Pastor, Jay Hutchens, remarked, “Abby is a proven leader with a deep faith and precisely the kind of experience Woodmont needs with our growing middle school ministry. She is a welcome addition to our amazing staff!”
