Hanging of the Greens

Join us as our youth group decorates the Sanctuary and children, youth, handbell, and chancel choirs perform stirring renditions of beloved Christmas carols. The evening is filled with special readings that give us historical insight into the significance of the Christmas season. Immediately following Hanging of the Greens is our Tasting Party, where tables of sweet and savory treats are set up for your enjoyment in Drowota Hall (our gym). Bring something tasty to share and join this festive kickoff to Advent, a unique Woodmont tradition!

Walk Thru Bethlehem

FREE FAMILY EVENT! EXPERIENCE THE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS Over 200 costumed characters and live animals recreate the village of Bethlehem at the time of Jesus’ birth. Visit the merchants and shopkeepers, sample the food, stop at the synagogue, pass through the crowded inn, and find Mary and Joseph with baby Jesus in the manger. Groups of all ages and sizes are welcome! The walk can take 20 minutes or an hour, depending on your interest and involvement. Activities are provided in the village shops for children to have hands-on experiences in basket weaving, carpentry, bread baking, wine and olive pressing, and pottery. Live camels, sheep, and goats surround Mary and Joseph’s stable to be seen and touched.

Youth Ski Retreat

We're excited to announce our 2nd annual Ski and Snowboarding Retreat to Perfect North, IN! This trip is for all 6th-12th graders and friends are welcome. We'll be leaving at 5 PM on Friday, February 8, ski and/or snowboard all day Saturday, snow tube Sunday morning, and be back at 5 PM that evening. You can register at the link below. Youth Fall Retreat at Bethany Hills

The deadline to sign up for our November 1-3 Fall Retreat at Bethany Hills is October 25. You can sign up at tndisciples.org/bethanyhillscamp. Your students do not want to miss one of the best weekends of the year!   Also, we need you! We have received word from the Region office that they still need adult chaperones (especially male chaperones). Woodmont brings the most students to this retreat by far and we need to represent ourselves well.   This is one of the highlights of the year for our youth. They love Bethany Hills and it is truly amazing to see the ways that even these short weekend retreats can impact their spiritual growth and development. We would love for you to be able to experience it. Woodmont Youth will cover the cost of the weekend for adult chaperones and you will get to serve in a way that is meaningful to the life of Woodmont Christian Church. Mother-Son Olympics

Join us for our annual Mother-Son Olympics!   This fun event is for mothers and sons of all ages to participate in classic field day games such as hula hoop ring toss, a massive obstacle course, bounce houses, water balloon toss, and tug o' war! We'll even have an area for young children to participate.   Come prepared to get messy and spend some quality time with your boys!   In order for us to provide enough food, registration is required for the Mother-Son Olympics.   Register for Mother-Son Olympics

Hanging of the Greens

Our annual Hanging of the Greens service is Sunday, Dec. 3, at 5:00 PM in the sanctuary, followed by The Tasting party in Drowota Hall. The service marks the beginning of the Advent season and features carols sung by the congregation and the Cherub Choir, Grace Notes, Handbell Choir, Jubilation, and the Chancel Choir. The Tasting Party is a special Christmas tradition at Woodmont where everyone brings a favorite holiday goodie to share with others. Punch and hot cider are provided. Bring your food to either the kitchen or to Drowota Hall before going to the sanctuary.
