Walk Thru Bethlehem

Walk Thru Bethlehem is back in 2024! Sunday, Dec. 8, from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Last updated: 12/2/2024

We do have a “No bags allowed” or “Bags subject to search” policy and the gates to the Bethlehem village will close at 6:00 p.m.

A free family event for all ages!

Over 200 costumed characters and live animals recreate the village of Bethlehem at the time of Jesus’ birth. Visit the merchants and shopkeepers, sample the food, stop at the synagogue, pass through the crowded inn, and find Mary and Joseph with baby Jesus in the manger.

Groups of all ages and sizes are welcome! The walk can take 20 minutes or an hour, depending on your interest and involvement. Activities are provided in the village shops for children to have hands-on experiences in basket weaving, carpentry, bread baking, wine and olive pressing, and pottery. Live camels, sheep, and goats surround Mary and Joseph’s stable to be seen and touched.

Volunteer for Walk thru Bethlehem

There are dozens of costumed roles to be filled; or consider being part of the behind-the-scenes crew that brings the village of Bethlehem to life.
