All children are invited to wear their pajamas to church and all families are invited to come ready to eat pancakes to their heart's content on Sunday, Sept. 11, at 8:30 AM in Drowota Hall. No fussing over "church clothes" that morning. Let the kids roll out of bed and come as they are! The buffet line will open around 8:30 AM and run until the beginning of the 9:30 AM service. Our photographer will be set up in the Gathering Hall and all Woodmont individuals and families are invited! "Faith & Civility" series 6:15 PM Wednesdays in September What role should faith play when it comes to public leadership? How can Christians model civil discourse between people with different political views? Why is there so much dehumanization in today’s politics? Where do we go to find facts and truth? What does it mean to be a “purple church” that brings people together? This September at Woodmont, we will welcome a number of different speakers as a part of this series. We will hear from scholars, journalists, and public servants in both parties. Join us for our annual Mother-Son Olympics! This fun event is for mothers and sons of all ages to participate in classic field day games such as hula hoop ring toss, a massive obstacle course, bounce houses, water balloon toss, and tug o' war! We'll even have an area for young children to participate. Come prepared to get messy and spend some quality time with your boys! On Monday night, May 22, at 6:00 PM, Woodmont Christian Church is hosting a public forum called “After Covenant: Faith, Guns, & Keeping Tennesseans Safe” with Sen. Bill Frist, Dr. Alex Jahangir, and Rev. Dr. Clay Stauffer. This non-partisan event will be moderated by News Channel 5’s Ben Hall. We are encouraging our leaders and anyone else who wants to grow to come to hear these speakers talk about the subject of leadership and purpose. We would like to help you discover your spiritual gifts and develop your unique strengths and then help you activate the serving heart God gave you! Beginning, Monday, Oct. 16, we are offering a five-week class in which you will: Take a spiritual gifts and ministry strengths inventory (using Gallup's Clifton Strengths Finder) Have your results interpreted and explained Be guided toward a ministry role that best fits your gifts and strength profile! Led by Beth Pattillo (a certified Clifton Strengths coach), Jay Hutchens (Woodmont's Executive Pastor), and Tammy Morgan (Woodmont's Connections Director), the class will run from Monday, Oct. 16, through Monday, Nov. 13, from 5:45 PM to 7:15 PM in Room 200.
